The only way to boost your weapon stat, you need Ulthane, who is capable of upgrading Fury’s weaponry and enhancements, but he can’t do it without a number of rare materials. Cracks in Envy's con performance show occasionally when she insults Fury.It glows stronger when more than one Sin is nearby, so Fury thinks that behavior is normal. The amulet still and constantly glows because of Envy's presence but Fury doesn't notice it.The energy is pale green, almost white, unlike the vibrant green energy the other Sins give off. Knowing the bigger picture of the story, you can read the scene as Fury telling Envy to get ready for the battle by hiding. The reason faux Envy doesn't deny being Envy, to me, was that she recognized the real Envy and thought that Fury was addressing her when she got battle-ready and said "Envy".
If she had been a Simulacrum, as BrotherGrimmy suggested, she would've probably looked just like the real Envy. She(?) probably carried the amulet with her as a proximity warning system. When she teleports to Fury and the "Watcher", the amulet starts to glow due to the proximity to a real Sin and faux Envy looks terrified for a moment. Not sure if we'll find out more about the faux Envy but I think that it may have been a rival of the real Envy a long time ago. There's something that always buzzing me.
